‘Ooh Baby Baby’: 3 Beautiful Versions of a Beautiful Song – Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, Linda Ronstadt and Seal

‘Ooh Baby Baby’, what a beautiful song, co-written by Smokey Robinson (and Pete Moore) in 1965, performed originally by Smokey and The Miracles on, of course, the Motown label. Watch this performance  –  Smokey’s voice is exquisite, his vocal control is staggering. Class, class, class:

I trust that you enjoyed that…

Next up, a sumptuous cover by one of the most beautiful ladies in the history of music, a lady with a gorgeous, sweet voice, the legendary Linda Ronstadt:

Tragically, Linda can’t sing these days, struck down with Parkinson’s Disease, but her contribution to music has produced a wonderful, golden legacy and that will ensure that she is never, ever forgotten.

Finally, a relatively new cover and it’s special, very special. Seal’s great albums, Soul (2008) and Soul 2 (2011), I recently discovered them and I have really been enjoying the music. This cover of ‘Ooh Baby Baby’ (on Soul 2) is beautiful:

Three versions of a beautiful song. I hope you enjoyed them.
