I recently watched the classic film, All About Eve: I was in shock, aghast…Bette Davis was off the scale, a staggering performance and, ahhhhhh, George Sanders, that voice!! Anne Baxter as Eve, captivating, as deliciously poisonous as JR but more dangerous, more hungry, more manipulative, Marilyn Monroe, beautiful, those quivering lips, the pout, and the end, so powerful, so chilling: Phoebe: what goes around, comes around….

All About Eve: a Joseph L. Mankiewicz masterpiece!

The film won 6 Oscars:

Best Film, Best Supporting Actor, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Sound Mixing and last, but definitely not least, Best Costume Design which was awarded jointly to the legendary Edith Head (one of her 8 career Academy Awards  –  she still holds the record for the most Academy Awards won by a woman) and Charles LeMaire (who is credited with having played a major part in persuading the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to introduce an Academy Award for Best Costume Design).

I can’t wait to watch it again!
