I’ve just watched ‘The Imitation Game’ again – what a great film! Superb performance from/by Benedict Cumberbatch!
I can’t get my head around how shamefully the British State crap*ed on a man who was an absolute hero, a man who saved millions of lives, one of THE greatest war heroes in history, how and why he was treated as he was…incomprehensible, tragic and, considering what happened at the end of his life, chemical castration and suicide, unforgivable. Thankfully, he was given a Royal Pardon, better late than never, I guess, but far, far too late – everyone who was convicted under similar bigoted, hateful, odious laws should be given a Royal Pardon now.
10 years between the Wolfenden Report (1957) and the Sexual Offences Act 1967, which decriminalised homosexuality acts between men in private, 10 years! That’s a disgrace!
I always talk about Dr. Martin Luther King Jnr as my hero – Alan Turing is another!
