Happy Birthday, Your Majesty. May you enjoy many, many more years of good health and happiness.
I must keep this post to Happy Birthday wishes and references to your exemplary reign, tempting though it is to move into politics and talk of the tragic state into which your Britain has been allowed to drift.
Your reign has, indeed, been exemplary and your devotion to service and duty truly inspirational. Your life, a life without choice, without options, was forced upon you but you didn’t only accept it, you embraced that call to serve the Nation and the Commonwealth.
Please indulge me this passing brush with politics: as one who no longer lives in the UK but whose heart will forever have dual nationality and residence, I look beyond the tragedy and chaos of today’s Britain to, and at, Your Majesty and the Royal Family, as my Britain, my England, the England I love.
May you enjoy many more years of good health and happiness.
Your faithful, obedient and proud Subject,
